what i want in a man

i want a man strong enough for me to
lean on but superman’s dead;
i want a man who understands poetry
but shakespeare’s dead;
i want a man who understands the
language of music but beethoven’s dead;
i want a man who can sing like a freak
and dance like a jerk, and whispers my
name most passionately but shrek is an ogre;
i want a man who washes his dirty
clothes but mr. clean is a detergent bar;
i want a MAN not like peter pan who
never grew up;
i want a man who can discuss marriage
without qualms but only a priest can do
this;
the truth is, there is really no ideal
man fit for perfection because men are
sometimes stupid, and they are all
alike. but i like them all.
